Robot Masters/Decepticonness

Er... where is Greatshot in Robot Masters? Also, was it outright said anywhere that he was a former Decepticon? I know he hung out with the mercenary Crossformers and Gaihawk, but I don't necessarily know if that means he was definitely a Decepticon himself... McFeely? Do you remember anything concrete on this? --Monzo 03:55, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

In episode 17, Greatshot explicity states he has joined the Cybertrons since his days with the Crossformers.

He was 'great friends' with Gaihawk and Star Saber says Greratshot is 'very familiar' with the satelite prison.

It looks like Greatshot was a destron who got busted and sent to the prison- then spriung by Star Saber for a mission- which so impressed Greatshot that he converted.
The timeline's a bit dodgy, since Gaihawk was also busted by Star Saber- but was unaware Greatshot has converted to the Cybertrons. They both got busted by the same guy and sent to the same prison- but Gaihawk wasn't aware Greatshot had been sprung/converted? It can work, it's just... a bit odd. On the other hand, Greatshot's conversion /sounds/ like it took place a few years ago, and he's probably avoided the Destrons since, so maybe Gaihawk simply didn't know.
If he wasn't a Destron, he was a merc working for the Destrons with everything else exactly the same. It really looks like the 'toon intended him to be a former Destron, but it didn't state this explicitly.

Also, while Greatshot talks like a samurai, he uses 'ninjitsu' trick attacks in his premiere episode, and standard ninja moves regularly after. He didn't quit the destrons because he was tired of blowing stuff up- he quit because the crossformers betrayed him then Star Saber gave 'a knave like him' a second chance.-75.168.112.43 05:49, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Old Stuff

I fully admit to not being very up on a lot of Japanese continuity, but I assume given that bio that there's speculation at least that this is a new form aof Sixshot (given the events of Headmasters) Can anyone give any pros and cons of the idea?--ZacWilliam 09:10, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I thought the Decepticons he doublecrossed were Black Shadow and Blue Bacchus. --M Sipher 09:46, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Great Shot is speculated to either be an upgraded SixShot, or SixShot's son. 85.195.123.24 22:49, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Which is utterly meaningless without proof. Fans make a lot of stupid "this guy is really this old guy we already know!" speculations. Remember when --according to fans-- Rhinox was Ironhide, Cheetor was Hot Rod, etc? --M Sipher 00:39, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
I think I remember having this conversation with Hydra back in the day. I think his conclusion was that, while the two scenarios are pretty similar- there was nothing everr published, anywhere, to make them the same guy-- and the lack of any connection in the E-hobby reissues sort of 'passively' supports them being different people (because making/exploiting that connection is right up e-bobby's alley- and they didn't.) Sadly, I don't know Hydra's thoughts on this today, since he's likely to have a more refined argument than I do. -Derik 00:10, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

For what its worth, the PDType comics have Sixshot and Greatshot running around at the same time. But those comics also have Megatron and Galvatron running around together, so its not really the best material to draw conclusions from. --DrSpengler 01:00, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

I strongly expect that they were originally intended to be the same guy, but that someone decided they didn't want that much continuity between series. See: Galaxy Force. Chip 03:33, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

That does seem to be the likeliest conclusion to draw, given what we know. -Derik 03:50, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
