Two unrelated things may have some kind of vague, remote, tiny, tenuous similarity, but that alone does not a reference make. Please try to avoid grasping at straws.


"Escape from Earth" is not such a unique title that it could only have been a reference to that one film from 2013. There was an E.T. video game with the name "Escape from Planet Earth" in 2001. There was a science fiction anthology titled "Escape from Earth: New Adventures in Space" in 2006. There was an episode of the Flash titled "Escape from Earth-2" in 2016.
