A Universal emulator was a part of a Transformers anatomy which only a few members of the race were equipped with. Typically, it was located behind the insignia of the Transformer in question.

A universal emulator was remarkably adaptable allowing it to be placed within a robot which would retain the Transformer personality that it was removed from. This piece of Transformer anatomy was capable of repairing other pieces of technology that include Isolator keys.

Perceptor was equipped with one such device and upon entry into Quadrant X was damaged to the point that he was fixed in his alternate mode when one of the native Samojen took out his Universal emulator to place in the robot known as Nijika.
