Powertrain is an Autobot Micromaster in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Jack Kirby has a lot to answer for.

Powertrain is the leader of the Off Road Patrol, and he's a by-the-book commander, so long as the book is entirely optional. Highjump thinks he isn't hard enough on Mudslinger . . . which says more about Highjump than anyone else.<ref>More Than Meets The Eye #4</ref>

Created after the launch of the Ark in a joint venture by the Autobots and Decepticons, Mudslinger could first be seen hanging out in Little Iacon with his fellow Micromasters. Powertrain transforms into an orange semi-trailer truck cab. He was only available in a four-pack with his teammates Highjump, Mudslinger and Tote.

His mold was also used to make Ironworks.
