After their mission to the Moon in 1972 was shut down, Dimitri and Yuri went into hiding in America. Years later, they were tracked down to a dive by Seymour Simmons and Sam Witwicky, who were after answers as to why their mission was cancelled. Dimitri explained that the Luna 4 mission took photos of the dark side of the Moon, revealing some very strange rock formations that looked like they'd been dragged into place, and Simmons and Witwicky started talking excitedly about Autobots and Pillars and Sentinel Prime. Dimitri’s involvement in the preceding events, or events mostly similar, was also chronicled in the novels "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon: The Junior Novel."
