The name or term "Scavenger" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Scavenger (disambiguation).
Scavenger is a Decepticon Constructicon from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film series continuity family.
Decepticon concept of right of way: "I have the right, so get out of my way".

Scavenger transforms into a Terex O&K RH400 excavator. When combined with his fellow Constructicons, he forms part of the upper torso of Devastator.

Fiction

Revenge of the Fallen film

Oh, he's a big'un.

During the climactic battle in Egypt between the Autobots, their human allies and The Fallen's Decepticons, Scavenger appeared in a quarry with the other Constructicons before merging into Devastator to attack former Sector Seven agent Seymour Simmons, Leo Spitz, Skids and Mudflap. As Devastator smashed away at the Great Pyramid of Giza after shrugging off Skids and Mudflap, Simmons called upon the United States Navy to fire upon the giant Decepticon. The USS Kidd fired her experimental rail gun, smashing one of his arms to pieces and destroying Devastator. Revenge of the Fallen

Scavenger’s involvement in the preceding events, or events mostly similar, were also chronicled in the novel "The Last Prime"; the comic mini-series "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Official Movie Adaptation"; and the storybook "Rise of the Decepticons."

IDW movie comics

Scavenger's body type was one of the early "construction drones" used to build Star Harvesters. One of the Scavengers joined the Fallen's original Decepticons. He tried to battle the turncoat Jetfire and was quickly taken out. Tales of the Fallen #3

Toys

Revenge of the Fallen

Legends Class toys

I'm the one who didn't speak; you must be thinking of the other fellow.
  • Scavenger (2009)
    • Japanese ID number: D4
Scavenger and the six other Legends Class Constructicons combine to form Devastator. In Japan, the Legends Class Constructicons are sold individually. Unlike the Voyager Demolishor, he can pose with his scoop arms by using the alt-mode's treads as kickstands. He forms (most of) the body of Devastator.
This toy was redecoed as the Japanese-exclusive Demolishor Shanghai Attack.
  • Constructicon Devastator (Legends figure multi-pack, 2010)
In Hasbro's markets, the Legends Constructicons are sold together as a store exclusive. In the United States and in Canada, said exclusive lies with Walmart. In the United Kingdom, the set is (to date) only available through Argos.

  • EZ Collection Devastator - G1 Colors Version (Legends, 2010)
Takara also released the seven Legends class Constructicons in G1 inspired green and purple color schemes.

Combiner Class toys

Here I am, stuck in the middle with you... guys.
  • Constructicon Devastator (2009)
Scavenger is a MASSIVE excavator truck that forms the central body and shoulders of the Supreme class Devastator. Because the Constructicons lack a robot mode in this set, he's really easy to transform, and thus is mostly hollow inside. Sadly, even though he is huge, he lacks a lot of the details Demolishor has, and also has a minimum of paint applications. He DOES however sport the tampographed letters THK-1139 on the side, which we can only assume is a subtle reference to the oft used Steven Spielberg/George Lucas number THX-1138

Mega Power Bots

  • Constructicon Devastator (2009)
Mega Power Bots Devastator is a simple toy for younger children, featuring plenty of playing sounds and flashing lights. His limbs have limited swivel articulation and do not detach into separate vehicles. He has a distinctly more humanoid stature than normal.
Unlike regular Power Bots, and unlike other portrayals of the character in general, Devastator features a transformation! It consists of putting his arms up and laying him flat on his stomach, which lets him roll around using the wheels on his limbs.
Pressing down the Decepticon shield on his crotch (!) spins the vortex in his chest, lights up his eyes and makes him utter one of many Welker-recorded phrases, including "Prepare for extermination!", "Crush Autobots!" and "I am Devastator!" Pressing on the crane of his excavator arm makes a cannon blast sound effect, while pressing the cab of his loader arm turns the scoop into claws.

Transformers (2010)

Legends Class toys

  • Constructicon Devastator (Legends, 2010)
A Toys"R"Us-exclusive Generation 1-themed redeco of Legends Devastator and his components. Unlike Takara's go at the same idea, Scavenger features no purple whatsoever—while the other Constructicons feature purple windshields and dirt on their wheels, Scavenger has the same white paint operations as his previous release.

Movie Advanced Series

  • Devastator (Legends, 2014)
    • Japanese ID number: AD13
Released as part of Takara's Movie Advanced Series Devastator set, Scavenger is a redeco of the ROTF Legends Scavenger to closely resemble his on-screen portrayal.

Studio Series

Demolishor redeco in 3, 2, 1...
Released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Revenge of the Fallen, Studio Series Scavenger is an all-new Leader Class figure modeled after Demolishor but in colors accurate to Scavenger's appearance in Revenge of the Fallen. He comes with a cardboard backdrop display depicting Operation: Firestorm. Some assembly is required, as a panel, which is meant to be located behind his right shoulder when assembled, comes detached in the packaging.
Scavenger can be combined with the rest of the Studio Series Constructicons to form Devastator, forming the giant's upper torso and shoulders.
Similar to the engineering of his original Legends Class toy, the upper wheel of his robot mode is not formed from his caterpillar treads, instead being stored in the body of his vehicle mode, while the actual treads themselves reform and sandwich together to form his lower, rotating wheel. As a result of his nontraditional design, Scavenger generally must be supported by at least one of his long arms, as the limited surface area of the lower wheel is not conducive to free-standing poses.
Like the majority of the Studio Series Constructicons, he lacks a Decepticon symbol.

  • Devastator (Gift Set, 2020)
    • ID Number: 69
This boxset contains 8 of the Studio Series Constructicons seen in the Revenge of the Fallen film. In order to keep Devastator accurate to his on-screen appearance, Skipjack is included in the set, completely omitting Rampage, as he was busy elsewhere.
This release of Scavenger features little to no difference from the previous release above.
The gift set first saw release in Thailand without any announcement from Hasbro, with it later being officially revealed on the October 16th Fan First Friday.

Merchandise

Robot Heroes

  • Desert Devastation (Multi-pack, 2009)
NOTHING CAN STOP CUTESTATOR!
Scavenger is the sculpted body of "Desert Devastation" Devastator, a super-sized Robot Heroes figure. He is only available in a multi-pack with Skids and Mudflap in their vehicle modes and William Lennox.

Notes

  • Scavenger is identical in design and vehicle form to Demolishor, the only difference being occasional color changes. Scavenger is mostly red with white striping and signage. This matches Demolishor's first Voyager Class toy, video game appearance, and comic adaptation appearance. However, in the film itself, Demolishor is mostly white.
