Geckobot is a Maximal from the Beast Machines portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Second from right. He exists in fiction! Pay attention to him!

The agile Geckobot is both highly intelligent and very creative. His sail-like wings absorb energy, which he stores in a module on his back for use in his energy pulse weapons. He's very maneuverable in flight, and the absorption properties of his wings make him perfect for long-range missions.

In his spare time, he likes to create garbage art from scrapped Vehicons.

Fiction

Beast Wars: Uprising

Geckobot was part of a cell of Maximals who rebelled against the status quo imposed by their Autobot masters. He joined a nighttime raid on Ferromax Detention Center to free Dynobot, though he wasn't very keen on the name chosen for their concealment: the impercepton shield. • Geckobot (Basic, 2000)
Part of the third wave of Beast Machines Basics, Geckobot does not actually transform into a gecko despite his name; his technorganic beast mode is instead based on a flying dragon. His wings are geared to "flap" in beast mode and become arm-mounted blades in robot mode. His spark crystal forms his beast mode eyes and is revealed fully by flipping open his lizard skull. Gruesome!

Notes

  • Geckobot had the pre-release name of Kamilion.[1]
  • Geckobot cannot actually get you a great deal on car insurance from Geico.
  • Geckobot's body in Alone Together is based on two separate retools of the Wheeljack mold in the Prime toylines; his head is Dead End's, while his body is that of the Beast Hunters retool of Wheeljack.
  • Funnily enough, thanks to an absence of pronouns in his toy bio and not being referred to by any in "Alone Together", Geckobot's gender remains ambiguous despite having an appearance in fiction.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Geckobot (ゲッコーボット[2] Gekkōbotto)
