Talk:Scorponok (Energon)
Wasn't he a Terrorcon who just signed up with Megatron on the condition that Megs didn't kill him?--Octopus Prime- King of the Road! 11:57, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- The existing profile references only his Dreamwave comics version. --ItsWalky 17:46, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- I confess, I was unaware that the cartoon version had a much different origin for him. Still, it's better than having no page at all for such an important character. - Dark T Zeratul 21:03, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Is attacktix wave 2 not out/canceled, or is this just another lingering template? -Derik 09:28, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
If Scorponok is in league with the Alpha quintesson, shouldn't we put a quintesson insignia at the top of the page? LokitheGrammarNazi 10:45, 27 August 2010 (EDT)
- No. Because Alpha Q is not a G1 Quintesson. —Interrobang 10:50, 27 August 2010 (EDT)
- On that topic, could someone who can actually fathom the Energon media please explain on Alpha Q's page that he is not in fact a Quintesson? Right now it is not handled helpfully at all. --Thylacine 2000 11:29, 27 August 2010 (EDT)
GPS, design flaw or just both?
I am tempted to get Scorponok somewhere next year because it is a figure I've always wanted. But after reading about him having GPS it left me on the edge if I want him or not. I bumped into a tutorial YouTube video many years ago where you can fix the shoulders to prevent the panels from breaking. So it leaves me confused whether it is GPS that is the main problem, if it is just some type of design flaw or if it's really both. --Wildstreak (talk) 03:19, 15 December 2020 (EST)
- Sadly it seems to be both; "The pale gold plastic used on the claws and shoulder fronts appears to be prone to suffering from a form of Gold Plastic Syndrome. In fact, the shoulder fronts have their own issues on all versions of the mold: due to their friction and the heavy arm assemblies they carry, the pieces tend to snap apart at their pegs, particularly if one attempts to transform Scorponok into his jet mode." - Is it just the Super Link version that has the problem with the claws? The Energon one has it's claws colored in orange while that the Super Link is gold but you can't really be too sure about how safe he is from self-destructing himself. Don't know how it is with the feet, arm connection and hips on the SL figure either if they are a ticking time bomb. As long as the Cybertron version one doesn't have GPS, despite being a homage to the GPS bringer himself Black Zarak, I'll be fine with him since he at least has the design flaw fixed. --Wildstreak (talk) 10:36, 16 December 2020 (EST)
- I'm also wanting this figure, but the GPS thing has made me paranoid. I mean, the only GPS figure I have right now is BW Silverbolt/Skywarp, but he's one of the more stable ones. As for Scorponok, I have no idea how fragile he is. If he can be handled with extreme caution, fine, but if he just breaks from breathing on it wrong...--CyclonustheWarrior (talk) 11:15, 16 December 2020 (EST)
