Hoist performed the part of a vague "Decepticon" threat apprehended by Autotroopers in Sentinel Prime's propaganda video. This Is Why I Hate Machines
Hoist was later interviewed about his part in the potentially inflammatory Autobot propaganda films (or "public service announcements" as he calls them) by multiversal newspaper ALTernity Today. The AllSpark Almanac II
Notes
- The shadowy "Decepticon" was, of course, unidentified in the episode he appeared in; The AllSpark Almanac II would later give him the name and backstory.
- The actor being named "Hoist" is a reference to the Transformers episode "Hoist Goes Hollywood".
- Derrick J. Wyatt, the art director of Transformers Animated, does not consider this character to be Hoist and thinks that the Hoist Goes Hollywood reference in the Allspark Almanac II doesn't make sense. This is an example of authorial intent.[1]
