A redeco of War for Cybertron: Kingdom Ractonite, Tricranius transforms from skeletal Styracosaurus to robot and back in 16 steps. As a Fossilizer, Tricranius can split into weapons and armor compatible with the C.O.M.B.A.T. System for use by other War for Cybertron Trilogy figures. The instructions for Ractonite suggest three possible weapons: a hammer, sword, and spiked club, and an armor mode that uses all of Ractonite's parts. Uniquely, the mold lacks traditional 5 mm port hands in robot mode. Rather, the figure's arms end in fold-out 5 mm pegs instead, and the tail weapon is designed for Tricranius to wield with those pegs in mind.

Tricranius is packed in a Generations Selects-style box containing 19 blast effect accessories. Similar to the Earthrise-concurrent Deluxe Centurion Drone, the pack of Tricranius with accessories totals up to the price of a Voyager figure.

Similar to fellow Fossilizer mold Paleotrex/Skelivore, Ractonite/Tricranius features a flip-down mask much like the "mutant head" gimmick used by first-year Beast Wars figures.
