Jigu is a Decepticon Mini-Con from the Prime portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Cue the Jaws theme!

Jigu (ジグ) is the Arms Micron partner of Dreadwing.

Fiction

Prime cartoon

Jigu only appears as an actual character in the Arms Micron Theater segments of the Japanese broadcast of Prime. Technically, he appears in the main cartoon any time Dreadwing uses his blaster, but we're not going to bother with that and just focus on his individual exploits.
Voice actor: Masami Iwasaki (Japanese)

Alongside Zamu, Gra and a bunch of Nojis, Jigu combined with Hades under the belief that doing so would result in a really powerful combination. Once Ida pointed out that any combination involving Hades wouldn't really be any stronger than Hades was to begin with, he realized he wasn't gaining anything from the experience and detached from the bat. Clashing Transformation! The Dark Commander Appears Alongside the other Decepticon Arms Microns, Jigu later tricked Gul into thinking Zori was their new leader. Blackest Transformation! The Shadow of Treachery On the final episode of Arms Micron Theater, all the Microns including Jigu got together to say goodbye to their viewers. Ultimate Transformation! Fight! Transformers

Toys

Prime

  • Dreadwing (Voyager, 2012-10-27)
    • Set ID number: AM-22
    • Micron ID number: M-30
    • Energon Crystal: SP Mystic
Available only with his larger partner Dreadwing in Japan, Jigu comes as an unassembled, unpainted "kit". He transforms from a robotic shark into Dreadwing's blaster cannon (kinda). Jigu is covered in 5mm posts and holes as part of the Arms Micron gimmick, allowing him to combine with other Microns to form bigger and more ridiculous "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons".
This mold was used to make Go.

A clear-green version of Jigu was given away with the purchase of Gatling Bumblebee at AEON stores on November 13.

Notes

  • Jigu comes from the katakana spelling of "shark" (シャーク shāku, written using the characters "shi", "ya", and "ku"), dropping the "ya" character and vowel extender and adding accents to the remaining syllables. Logical romanisation, as usual, suffers from it as ジ sounds more like a sliding English "ji" instead of the more logical "zhi".
  • Jigu's ID number was never announced on TakaraTomy's site. Rather, it comes from the tree his parts are on.
