Transformers: Super-God Masterforce (manga)

Transformers: Super-God Masterforce (トランスフォーマー 超神マスターフォース Toransufōmā: Chōjin Masutāfōsu) is a manga series that ran for a total of twelve issues, published monthly from April 1988 to March 1989. While the previous Transformers manga series acted as supplements to the animated shows they ran concurrently with, Masterforce deviated from this trend and acted as its own self-contained continuity. Despite being in a continuity apart from the TV series, it still required readers to watch the television show in order to understand certain elements of the backstory and the origins of various characters who would appear in the manga without introduction. However, in some cases, the Masterforce manga provided slightly more background information than the Masterforce anime.
All twelve issues were drawn by Ban Magami and penned by Masumi Kaneda.

Additional chapter
Magami and Kaneda reunited to produce an additional chapter of the series for Transformers Generations 2017. This story takes place between issue #6 and issue #7 of the original Super-God Masterforce comic.
