Car-robots are Decepticon drones from the Generation 1 cartoon continuity.

Born out of modified New York City cars, the car-robots supplement the Decepticon forces on Earth.

Fiction

The Transformers cartoon

After being offered a million dollars by the Decepticons, the Geddis brothers ran a car theft operation in New York City, accumulating 500 cars for delivery to the Decepticon base in the Pine Barrens. Modified by the Constructicons into transforming drones, the remote-controlled cars drove into the city, where they encountered the Autobots, who got wind of the Decepticon plot. Transforming into their robot modes, the car-robots had the Autobots at a disadvantage till they realized they were controlled remotely and Blaster jammed the signal. The Autobots then invaded the Decepticon base, and, with Raoul's help, were able to destroy the factory, permanently disabling the car-robots.

In the aftermath, Sparkplug Witwicky estimated it would take him weeks to restore the cars to their original state. Make Tracks

Notes

  • The car-robots are never given a proper name in English media; "car-robots" is the best designation found in the script for "Make Tracks".
