Fiction
The Transformers cartoon
After being offered a million dollars by the Decepticons, the Geddis brothers ran a car theft operation in New York City, accumulating 500 cars for delivery to their client's base in the Pine Barrens. Modified by the Constructicons into transforming drones, the remote-controlled cars drove into the city, where they encountered the Autobots, who got wind of the plot. Transforming into their robot modes, the car-robots had the Autobots at a disadvantage till they realized they were controlled remotely, leading Blaster to jam the signal. The Autobots then invaded the Decepticon base, and, with Raoul's help, were able to destroy the factory, permanently disabling the car-robots.
In the aftermath, Sparkplug Witwicky estimated it would take him weeks to restore the cars to their original state. Make Tracks

- The car-robots are never given a proper name in English media; "car-robots" is the best designation found in the script for "Make Tracks".
