Cybertron Defense Hot Shot variant?

The Cybertron Defense Force Hot Shot I have in front of me has the panels covering the shoulder missiles swapped from the one in the picture (i.e., it's the same as the Springer release of this mold). However, I got it second-hand, and the panels are fairly easy to pull off and swap by hand, so I don't know if this is an actual manufacturing variant, or if the previous owner did it. Has anyone seen a boxed CDF Hot Shot where the panels are swapped? JW 10:58, 29 July 2010 (EDT)

Hmm, and, I note, the instructions for the toy have the panels in the same configuration as mine (tabs on the inside). JW 11:07, 29 July 2010 (EDT)
And, if you look at the panels in question, and the red machine guns on his bumper/top of shoulders, you'll see that they're lettered A for one shoulder, and B for the other. On mine, both of the left shoulder parts are A, and both right parts are B. So, on mine, either four parts were swapped (which is possible, I guess), or "tabs on the inside" is the correct assembly, and the toy in the pic on this page is a misassembled variant. (Yes, I'm still investigating this.) It seems, in the cartoon, the tabs are clearly on the outside. So, A) my toy is missasembled, and B) the instructions have it wrong. "A" is the right shoulder. JW 15:50, 29 July 2010 (EDT)

Homages

From the Cybertron toy section:

His design and transformation sequence are an homage to Volfogg from the Takara-produced Brave series, King of Braves GaoGaiGar and a partial homage to Dran from another Takara-produced series, The Brave of Gold Goldran.

...is any of that true? It sounds really Episode Page "references" Bullshitty to me. --ItsWalky 10:33, 4 January 2013 (EST)

Here's Volfogg and here's Dran. There are inarguably resemblances, particularly to Volfogg. On the other hand, a lot of guys transform something like that. As always, this fandom sees intentional homages in every resemblance, and I certainly don't know whether this one is one or not. -LV 12:40, 4 January 2013 (EST)
Claiming we can tell when a transformation scheme has been homaged (versus a character design) seems like opening a very bad door. --ItsWalky 12:47, 4 January 2013 (EST)
It's definitely similar to most Brave protagonists that turn into cars (Exkaiser, Da Garn, Deckard, Dran, Dag Fire, Volfogg and even Baan) but to pinpoint a specific one Hot Shot is homaging is ludicrous, at least not unless the toy's designers flat out point it out. --Detour 14:23, 4 January 2013 (EST)

Something wrong with captions

I think this caption: Someone had to sell porn to afford this. Doesn't sound too apropriate if children are reading.

I don't believe that's ever been a particular concern of ours. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 14:55, 21 February 2015 (EST)
We avoid obscenities, but "porn" is so not an obscenity. --ItsWalky (talk) 15:47, 21 February 2015 (EST)
ok
Well, I have noticed that too, and I just have to say, I agree with the first person who started this part, as just thinking from a kid's view, a kid might see this, and be like... "Ooohhh... What's this?" and look it up, and well... you get the point. I mean yeah, most people in the ages of like say 15 or older would know this, but some might not. So maybe it should be changed so as if nothing else, to ensure that no one finds out what it is that shouldn't due to age. Beetle Bug (talk) 11:18, 12 July 2021 (EDT)

Spare image

I mean it's slightly redundant, but also a bigger image, so? This was on the "Toy" page for reasons unknown. --M Sipher (talk) 03:43, 2 March 2019 (EST)
