Star Trek vs. Transformers is a five-issue crossover miniseries that ran from September 2018 to February 2019.[1] The series sees the Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons interacting with characters from the Star Trek universe, using the characters and artstyle established in 1973's animated series.

Overview

When the crew of the starship Enterprise investigates a distress call on the fringes of Klingon space, they inadvertently stumble into a Decepticon attack, necessitating the intervention of Optimus Prime and an alliance between the Autobots and the Enterprise crew. But Megatron and the Decepticons have allies of their own, with a personal grudge against Captain Kirk...

Creative team

Long-time Transformers scribe John Barber and Star Trek (and occasional Transformers) author Mike Johnson co-write the series, with Philip Murphy and Leonardo Ito handling artistic duties.

Notes

  • Early concept art for the series included an alternate opening, in which the crew of the Enterprise discovered Optimus Prime's dead body drifting in space, and an original character that transformed into a tricorder. [2]
  • Originally solicited as a four-issue miniseries, popular demand allowed the creators to extend the series by one issue.
