Berserker

Berserker is a Decepticon from The Last Knight portion of the live-action film series continuity family.

Possibly the most homicidal Decepticon of all, Berserker is a seething ball of destructive energy, his lust for violence constant and irrepressible. Anyone and anything that gets in his way is torn to shreds, leading his allies and enemies alike to give him as wide a berth as possible.

By some miracle, the humans captured Berserker after he left countless bodies in his wake with their flesh sucked dry. He has been constantly struggling against his restraints, spitting out the most graphic threats imaginable, which have led to stronger restraints, which make Berserker even angrier... and the cycle continues. Naturally, Megatron wants this antisocial and impulsive maniac back in his ranks, but even he knows it's a tall order.

Berserker was among the Decepticons in T.R.F.'s custody. When T.R.F. was negotiating with Megatron, Megatron requested Berserker be one of the Decepticons released from custody to be part of his "crew". Berserker showed his violent temper when his mouth guard was released and he loudly threatened to drink the blood of his human captors. T.R.F. declined the request, claiming Berserker was far too dangerous to be released and that Megatron knew full well that his request was unreasonable. Megatron seemed to care little about the denial and merely settled on Onslaught instead. The Last Knight

Part of the first wave of The Last Knight Premier Edition Deluxe Class figures, Berserker changes from a Chevrolet Suburban to robot and back. He includes a pair of spiked weapons which he can hold via 5mm post. They can hang off of his back panel by the small hooks on the handles, and store in the undercarriage of his vehicle mode. His hands also have two thumbs on opposite sides, which is awesome.

The vehicle mode kibble on his forearms is not affixed to him and merely pegs into sculpted slots on his arms. This leads to a somewhat weak hold and the kibble parts falling off during conversion. In vehicle mode, several of the tabs meant to hold the outer body together don't fit well, resulting in large gaps. The panels that form the back of the vehicle, in particular, have a tendency to pop out due to excessive pressure. It's best if you start at the front with the panels that tab into his hips and work your way backwards.

Berserker was the most commonly-found shelfwarmer of the first wave of his line, often filling entire pegs with unsold figures. Despite this, he eventually saw re-release as part of the fourth wave of Premier Edition Deluxes.

He was extensively retooled into Studio Series Crowbar and (strangely) Crankcase.

Released in the second wave of 1-Step Turbo-Changers, Berserker changes from a generic version of a Chevrolet Suburban to robot when his spoiler and hood are folded upward. He has articulated shoulders and 5mm compatible ports in his fists. His vehicle mode is a pick-up truck of fictitious origin rather than the Chevy Suburban that his first toy used. Like all Last Knight 1-Steps, he has a faction symbol hidden in UV-reactive paint to make him interact with the "Cyberfire" gimmick of Mega Turbo Changer Dragonstorm.

Released in Series 2 of Tiny Turbo Changers, Berserker changes from a robot to a generic version of a Chevrolet Suburban. He features articulated shoulders and hands that can grip Cyberverse weapons and other 3mm compatible posts.

This mold is also used to make Movie Edition Crankcase.

He's really more into tearing your limbs off with his bare hands anyway.

• Megatron & Decepticon Berserker (Mission to Cybertron 2-pack, 2017)

Available with Megatron, Berserker is a redeco of Prime Legion Class Breakdown, transforming from robot into an armored car. Despite the official promotional images, and despite the shape of the package insert itself, he does not include Breakdown's blaster, although he of course retains the 3mm sockets to use it or other Cyberverse-scale weapons.

This mold was also used to make Fallback.

• Berserker is based directly upon Dark of the Moon Crankcase, right down to the Deluxe Class figure's Chevrolet Suburban mode and spiked weapons.
• Despite his very limited screen-time (all of which he spends locked in restraints), he received more toy representation than some of the more prominent Decepticons in the film–including Nitro Zeus, Onslaught, Dreadbot, and Mohawk, the latter three not receiving toys or merchandise at all as of current knowledge.
• According to Josh Nizzi's Instagram account, Berserker is a member of the Dreads.
• The big red X on Berserker's chest is a carryover from concept art (image on the right) posted in Nizzi's Instagram in which he is depicted with a big crossed-out Autobot symbol on his chest. Did he used to be an Autobot? That seems hard to believe.
