The name or term "Generations" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Generations (disambiguation).

Transformers: Generations (トランスフォーマー ジェネレーションズ Toransufōmā Jenerēshonzu) is a TakaraTomy toyline that was sold from 2012 to 2014. Unlike its Hasbro counterpart, which it shares visual elements with, it only sold product from the Fall of Cybertron and Thrilling 30 range of toys, being preceded by Transformers United (which sold product from the first phase of Hasbro Generations).

Similarly to United, Japanese Generations figures were given "premium" paint jobs, being coated in shiny paint and featuring numerous additional paint details. Unlike United, which characterized all of its toys as versions of the traditional Generation 1 characters, the Fall of Cybertron characters were given profiles that more closely matched their "Aligned" characterization, although whether TakaraTomy considered Fall of Cybertron a thing wholly separate from Generation 1 isn't clear.

Japanese Generations was succeeded by Legends (which sold versions of Hasbro's Generations product from halfway of Thrilling 30 to Titans Return) and Unite Warriors (which included counterparts of combining toys from Combiner Wars).

Fiction

Generations received some fiction to support its product, mostly for the big-ticket Metroplex and exclusives sold through the Generations book series.
