MediaWiki:Featured Article Nominations
From MediaWiki
This page is to be used to nominate featured articles for the Main Page. There is no guarantee that any pages nominated here will be picked, as ultimately the selected featured article is at the sole discretion of site owner ItsWalky.
When nominating pages, provide an explanation of why you believe it deserves to be featured, and — if you think it would be best suited to a certain month — an explanation of why it should be picked for that month.
Nominations
- Flamewar (G1). Flamewar is a recurring character in the current IDW comics, and arguably its breakout character in terms of popularity; following recent revisions, the page comprehensively illustrates the design lineage throughout her character history, has a detailed intro paragraph that applies well to all iterations of her, and features detailed descriptions and appropriate images of her fictional appearances. --Riptide (talk) 08:59, 1 October 2020 (EDT)
- Transformers: Devastation. Devastation was the last game released as part of Activision's 10-year licensing deal, the last TF console game released for five years until Battlegrounds came out in October 2020, and one of the more beloved games in the franchise. The article is fully-featured, with a complete plot summary, a detailed gameplay section, multiple images, and a comprehensive list of callbacks to past TF media. (It would also mark the first time we've featured an article about a video game.) -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:31, 3 October 2020 (EDT)
- DreamMix TV World Fighters. Similarly comprehensive, to the point where our coverage was basically quoted word-for-word by Did You Know Gaming. Aside from detailed gameplay and content explanations, it includes some interesting trivia that provides some real-world context for the game. The only thing missing is a more detailed story recap since no one's bothered to translate the cutscenes; we can look into fixing that. Might be a fun feature whenever they decide to release the last DLC for Smash Ultimate, currently set for December 2021. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:31, 3 October 2020 (EDT)
Primus Vanguard. Not only is it a well-written and comprehensive article on its own merits, it also acts as a "hub" for all of our Selects coverage, which Sam has been doing a fantastic job of translating for the wiki in a timely fashion. --Riptide (talk) 17:30, 7 October 2020 (EDT)- I, Lowtech. I worked on this one for three weeks trying to get it down perfect. Make that about 2 years if we're counting the Jenny's Gun incident. Grammar could stand to be streamlined a bit, but otherwise it's all there. Escargon (talk) 17:39, 7 October 2020 (EDT)
Reproduction. A big overhaul I did a few months ago, where I killed a lot of cruft and turned a page that was mostly about dumb innuendoes into something pretty comprehensive. Grum (talk) 18:42, 7 October 2020 (EDT)- Transformer. Such a big, obvious one that it's kind of surprising it hasn't been done yet - maybe for a wiki anniversary? Loco/Grum (and, to a lesser extent, I) put a lot of work into making this one a comprehensive overview of Cybertronians as a species. --Riptide (talk) 18:52, 7 October 2020 (EDT)
Straxus (G1). For no other reason really except that once Secrets and Lies wraps up, it'll be a totally up-to-date page that I'm surprised HASN'T been featured yet. His profile's increased steadily over the last year or two with his starring in recent Japanese fiction as well. --Nu-Priest (talk) 19:19, 9 October 2020 (EDT)Sky Lynx (G1). Just had to do a little more furnishing on it and it's now a pretty complete page. His new toy just got into the Hall of Fame this year and maybe it's a little late now, but another page I'm surprised hasn't been featured yet. --Nu-Priest (talk) 14:17, 15 October 2020 (EDT)Transformer afterlife. One of Chris's recent big conceptual overh- wait, what the hell, that was in 2016? Well, either way, it's a good big one.--Riptide (talk) 17:15, 26 November 2020 (EST)- Skids (G1). Maybe closer to when the Masterpiece lands, but it's pretty nearly complete and up-to-date. --Nu-Priest (talk) 13:46, 12 April 2021 (EDT)
- Cerebro-shell. After giving the page a bit of a refresh lately, I thought why not give the humble cerebro-shell its time in the spotlight? --Emvee (talk) 18:00, 15 June 2021 (EDT)
- The Transformers: The Movie. A detailed and entertainingly-written page for possibly the most iconic piece of "Generation 1" media. Kind of sad it didn't get featured earlier, in my opinion. Maybe give a little check over before featuring, but I personally don't think much needs improving. Additionally, featuring this page next month would coincide with its 35th birthday. Doomdorm64 (talk) 12:04, 26 July 2021 (EDT)
- Razorbeast. For November. Cuz Will Smith's been looking for him since October! Also, he makes his return to fiction in October's IDW Beast Wars issue, and heh, Thanksgiving = ham. Nu-Priest (talk) 11:41, 5 August 2021 (EDT)
- Pat Lee. For next month. This just occurred to me after seeing him resurface in the news last week. I mean, the man likes to promote himself, so maybe we should help him? He DID create the North American run of Transformers comics, after all. Nu-Priest (talk) 11:46, 9 August 2021 (EDT)
- Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity. After today's extensive overhaul by AzimuthAcolyte, I feel this page is a hell of a lot more informative than it once was and summarizes the history pretty nicely. -- Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 00:18, 20 October 2021 (EDT)
- Jack Angel, for obvious reasons.-DDog (talk) 16:11, 20 October 2021 (EDT)
