One version of Hound and Treadbolt were Offworlders in Axiom Nexus. Hound was with his bulk partner when she and Spacewarp took a job for B'hgdad. During the job, Hound and Spacewarp's Mini-Cons were put in mode lock by B'hgdad's goons, but Treadbolt and Spacewarp turned the tables on their captors. Spacwarp's Log (1), 2015/10/29

The Energon release of Armada Rollbar was repurposed as Hound.

Rollbar, redecoed in mostly olive green with a white star on his hood, came packed-in with his partner Treadbolt. He transforms into a beach buggy. In robot mode, Rollbar can be placed in Treadbolt's driver's cabin to activate sound features. His Mini-Con port is located on his... crotch.
