Generations Selects (franchise)

Generations Selects is a branding introduced by Hasbro and TakaraTomy in 2019 in the era of brand unification for higher-end exclusive figures, following the end of Fun Publications' and e-HOBBY's respective tenures producing adult-oriented Transformers figures.
Toys
Generations Selects largely follows on from the precedent set by Fun Publications' Timelines toyline; featuring redecoes and retools of pre-existing War for Cybertron Trilogy or occasionally Prime Wars Trilogy molds, typically representing lesser-known Transformers characters. However, TakaraTomy's version of the toyline features high-budget retools reshelling large portions of the original toys (Power of the Primes Moonracer into Generations Selects (TakaraTomy) Tentakil replaced about 90% of the original mold) and also features a heavy focus on combiner robots, reusing the same connection joint system from Unite Warriors and the Prime Wars Trilogy.
Fiction
TakaraTomy published a webcomic called Generations Selects Special Comic to promote their contributions to the toyline, hosted in the TakaraTomy Mall listings for the toys themselves. This strip showcased the adventures of a time lost Optimus Prime and Galvatron in the mysterious world of an organization known as the "Primus Vanguard" in a plot that would eventually snowball into the grand finale of TakaraTomy's 2010s pack-in fiction both retail and exclusive.
