Megatron once worked alongside Optimus as part of Cloud World's Universal Police. But he was ambitious, and wanted to use SARA's power for more than just law enforcement; he saw the potential in using her power to conquer the entire multiverse, and bring it to an orderly rule... under himself. Despite assembling like-minded warriors to his side, Megatron was ultimately defeated by Optimus Prime. Fate He was branded "Political Prisoner X-86" and banished from the Autobots' Metropolis. Raid Believing power to be the only thing that mattered, Megatron intended to conquer all space-time and bring order to its chaotic nature by force, with no concern for who or what he had to sacrifice in the process. An outstanding swordsman, Megatron's weapon of choice was the Fusion Blade, a mighty sword created by fusing together metals from many different dimensions.

Megatron came to be the leader of the Decepticons consigned to Cloud World's Underground, rallying the many who had been also been exiled from Metropolis. He proclaimed to his followers that the power of SARA rightfully belonged in their hands. Taking advantage of the resentment his kin felt towards the Autobots, he forged the Decepticons into a formidable army, and led them towards Metropolis in a grand coup. Uprising Before the attack, he learned that Starscream schemed to seize the power for himself, and planned accordingly. Resolve During the attack, he made his way to Metropolis's thirteenth district, and began to obliterate it by himself while his troops spread out to sow destruction among the city's many other districts. Raid A select team had been given a special mission during the invasion; to infiltrate the Autobots' command center and kidnap SARA! Resolve

As he rampaged, Megatron was pestered by Starscream. While Megatron chewed out his subordinate, Optimus Prime came upon them. Though Starscream tried to interfere, Optimus took him down with a well-placed punch. Megatron then told his subordinate to find his OWN nemesis to fight, and stepped forth to duel Optimus himself. A nearby explosion rocked the battlefield, causing Optimus to falter in his stance. Seizing the opportunity, Megatron lunged forth with his sword, only to be outmaneuvered when Optimus shifted to his vehicle mode and back, and struck a counter-blow. As the battle raged on, both combatants found themselves evenly matched. Fate But as the entire attack had been nothing more than a distraction in Megatron's greater scheme, it came to an end when news reached the combatants that the Decepticons had taken off with SARA. Megatron contacted Shockwave to confirm the report then sounded a retreat. Triumphant, Megatron returned to the Underground. Resolve

Holing himself up in the basement of a decrepit old building while his troops guarded the main floor, Megatron began wiring the SARA orb into his own systems. Optimus nonetheless found his way to him, accompanied by Hot Rodimus and Brawl. As SARA's power flowed into him, Megatron revealed to his enemies the true extent of his megalomania; he planned to became the ruler of all space-time, even if it meant destroying his home dimension in the process. With a surge of energy, Megatron then knocked aside both Brawl and Hot Rodimus before Optimus managed to ram him, disrupting the energy flow from SARA. The collision caused the combatants to be transported to OG World, where Megatron had planned to begin his dimensional conquest. But during the trip, Megatron became separated from SARA. He found Optimus in short order, alongside the local Autobots and Decepticons, and charged his nemesis. Leap

Megatron is a silver, red and black redeco of Generations Voyager Class Megatron, itself a retool of Revenge of the Fallen: N.E.S.T. Global Alliance Voyager Class Bludgeon with a new head. He transforms from a Japanese Type 90 tank into a samurai-esque robot mode and features a flexible plastic sword which is made out of a portion of the barrel of the tank's main gun, as well as a smaller dagger. The dagger can be stored in a sheath which is revealed from inside the tank turret, and both blades can be slotted in holes provided on the robot mode's left hip guard. Additionally, the dagger's handle can fit in the base of the sword's handle, forming a double-bladed weapon. He has Mech Alive gimmicks in his thighs and turret: sculpted cylinders in his thighs rotate whenever his lower legs are rotated, and pulling his turret open makes a sculpted white "disc" at the center rotate while a scabbard for the dagger hinges over to the side and props itself up for use.
The vehicle mode is one of the very few Transformer tank toys with rubber components to its treads. Portions of the tread links can unlock, allowing them to hang from the robot mode, while the wheels of the treads are integrated separately into the robot mode form itself. The treads still do not function realistically; small plastic wheels on the underside of the treads help the tank mode roll, as is standard with nearly all Transformer tank toys.
As a redeco of his Generations counterpart, it is highly likely that Megatron is cursed with the same design fault as his brethren - the rubber treads break down over the course of years, causing them to corrode spots of plastic and leave melty gashes behind.
Megatron was available exclusively through e-HOBBY.
The original version of this mold was redecoed into Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons Banzaitron, and it was differently retooled to make Timelines Gigatron.
