This boxed set, released in 2004, contains 32 assorted Valentine's Day cards, with each card depicting a character and what is supposed to be a pithy saying. The 32 cards represent eight different cards, with four of each card to a box; they are packed as four sheets containing one each of the eight designs.
Included Cards
[edit]- Optimus Prime (Powerlinxed) - "Happy Valentine's Day!"
- Strongarm - "You Rock! Happy Valentine's Day!"
- Optimus Prime - "Have an action-packed Valentine's Day!"
- Scorponok - "You're high voltage! Happy Valentine's Day!"
- Hot Shot - "You're a hot shot! Happy Valentine's Day!"
- Optimus Prime (Powerlinxed; different pose) - "Have a super-powered Valentine's Day"
- Megatron/Galvatron - "You're unbeatable! Happy Valentine's Day!"
- Inferno/Roadblock - "You sure know how to heat things up! Happy Valentine's Day!"
Also included in the set is a sticker sheet that has images of Superlink Optimus Prime (same image as on one of the cards), Megatron (ditto), Unicron, Starscream, the Hot Shot / Inferno Powerlinx, the Inferno / Hot Shot Powerlinx, Scorponok, two Autobot faction symbols, and a Decepticon faction symbol.
Notes
[edit]- The second Powerlinx Optimus Prime card is twice the size of the others; this may have been meant as a card to be given out to teachers, as such cards are usually larger than the rest in such boxes.
- Two of the phrases on the cards, "Have an action-packed Valentine's Day!" and "You sure know how to heat things up!" have rather unfortunate—yet unintentionally hilarious—implications, especially when one considers some of what's been released and depicted as part of the franchise over the years. And that's even before one considers any of the unfortunate character names.
