The Energon-axe is a weapon from the Generation One continuity family.
Prime's got an axe to grind...right into Megatron.

The Energon-axe is the cool kickass weapon used by Optimus Prime whenever he can't seem to find his ion blaster. He retracts his hand, and then ax replaces it. A cool weapon, but he only seems to use it whenever he and Megatron are fighting on a particular dam. Despite that, it was very memorable ability, so much so that one of the Optimus Prime toys was remodeled so an arm could be removed and replaced with the ax.
