- The Recruit is a Decepticon from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film series continuity family.

The Recruit is a Decepticon rookie who arrived on Earth during the Decepticon mission to find the Star Harvester. Unlike his predecessor, he can scan various weapons & power-ups that can help him during his missions. Guided by Decepticons like Soundwave, and despite being called a liability by certain bots, as well as a common foot soldier by the one calling the shots, the recruit is ready to show no mercy to his Autobot foes.

The Recruit arrived on Earth in time to break up an argument between Starscream and his two henchmen Grindor and Sideways. Starscream was dismissive of the Recruit, insisting he wasn’t interested in adding a weak link to his organization. However, Starscream let him join up when Optimus Prime arrived only to be harshly shut down by the Recruit. The new guy quickly learned of the rivalry between Starscream and the deceased Megatron, and became the star player of the Decepticons, consistently fulfilling objectives and defeating any foe he encountered.
During the battle at Cairo, the Recruit had the privilege of meeting The Fallen himself, who had taken a shine to him for his efficiency. This concerned Megatron, who then got teased by Starscream. The Recruit proved himself once again by destroying Optimus, much to Megatron’s horror. Sure enough, The Fallen praised the Recruit for his performance and promoted him to be his new apprentice and general of his army on the spot, demoting Megatron to a common foot soldier in his place. The Recruit humbly accepted this honor, while Megatron fumed in despair at having lost his job… and Starscream schemed to one day usurp him, now that Megatron no longer had the position of leader.
