Prowl is a Maximal from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Mess offends the orderly mind of Prowl. As he sees the world, mistakes are prevented when all factors are carefully considered before undertaking action.

Alongside Silverbolt and Ironhide's talents, Prowl contributes his ferocity to the new Maximal gestalt warrior Magnaboss.

Sold only in a 3-pack along with Ironhide and Silverbolt, Beast Wars Prowl transforms from a lion into a robot, with his cat-butt turning into a "cyber tail claw" weapon. He is able to combine with his package buddies into Magnaboss. Prowl forms the head of Magnaboss, while his weapon forms the grip and cross-guard of the combiner's sword.

This mold was used to make Lio Junior.

Notes

• The 1997 Magnaboss toy included no information about its three components beyond their names and a personality trait ostensibly different from the Generation 1 individuals of the same names. 2007's Beast Wars Sourcebook, written by Ben Yee and Simon Furman, would characterize the toy trio as the Generation 1 Autobots having survived to become Maximal Elders in the 24th century. By contrast, the 2021 Earth Wars mobile game, also written by Furman, would depict lion Prowl as a separate individual from police car Prowl in tandem with eagle Silverbolt being different from jetliner Silverbolt.
