Silverbolt is a Maximal from the Beast Era portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
"Did you know that, underneath their clothing, the entire population of the world is walking around completely naked?"

As one of the very first Maximals to arise after the end of the Great War, Silverbolt (also Silver Bolt) has risen to an esteemed position as the leader of the Maximal High Council. A calm, thoughtful warrior and politician, Silverbolt remains a force to be reckoned with both on and off the battlefield, and even Predacons treat him with respect.

When combined with Prowl and Ironhide, Silverbolt contributes his swiftness to the new Maximal gestalt warrior Magnaboss.

Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Silver Bolt was among the eldest of the new generation of Cybertronians, created through the energon matrix before Maxima and Preditron orchestrated the rise of factions among the offspring races. He was once a professor at Crystal City's Drouhard University before eventually rising to become senior member of the Maximal High Council, one of the puppet ruling bodies under the Builders' domination. When the Grand Uprising began, the council eventually orchestrated the rise of an independent Maximal Nation in the Tagon Heights region, bringing the Maximal Command Security Force and many civilian Maximals with them.

Silver Bolt led the High Council's debate over what to do over the rise of the Vehicons. Airazor proposed joining Lio Convoy as he asked in attacking the Builder Assembly directly, Santon preferred trusting in their brokered neutrality, Lio Minor wanted to bunker in and defend their own territory, while Tigatron was undecided. The vote changed when Cheetor and Preditron arrived from the front lines with first hand reports about how serious the Vehicon threat was. Silver Bolt called for a ruling, and all but Santon agreed to join with Lio Convoy's advance. Derailment

Beast Wars

[edit]
  • Magnaboss (Ultra, 1997)
  • Accessories: 2 "razor-tipped wing swords", 2 missiles
  • Known designers: Takio Ejima (TakaraTomy), Masakatsu Saito (concept artist){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}
Available only in an Ultra sized 3-Pack with Ironhide and Prowl, Beast Wars Silverbolt transforms from an eagle into a robot, with portions of his wings turning into a pair of "razor-tipped wing swords". Each wing also contains a spring-loaded missile launcher. He is able to combine with his package buddies, forming part of the torso and helmet to the giant robot Magnaboss.
Silverbolt is rumoured to be a sufferer of the dreaded Gold Plastic Syndrome, but his plastic overall is sturdier than other examples.
This mold was used to make Beast Wars II Skywarp.

Notes

[edit]
  • The 1997 Magnaboss toy included no information about its three components beyond their names and a personality trait ostensibly different from the Generation 1 individuals of the same names. 2007's Beast Wars Sourcebook, written by Ben Yee and Simon Furman, would characterize the toy trio as the original Autobots having survived to become Maximal Elders in the 24th century. By contrast, the Beast Wars: Uprising prose stories in 2016 would depict Silver Bolt as a separate character. Additionally in 2021, the Earth Wars mobile game, also written by Furman, would depict eagle Silverbolt as a separate individual from jetliner Silverbolt in tandem with lion Prowl being different from police car Prowl.
