Transformers: Legacy of Unicron is the third trade paperback to be published by Titan Books in their reprint series of colour Marvel UK comics. Flitting between the present-day and the future stories, it covers the twin threats of Galvatron and Unicron as they threaten the Transformers in each time zone.

Notes

  • The introduction to the book explains the background to the UK stories collected within as well as real world events that shaped its evolution such as how Simon Furman managed to become editor whilst still being the primary writer and how the inclusion of the Headmasters mini-series was grudgingly accepted despite the tie in US reprints being some way off.[1]
  • Furman's first version of the Transformers origin story is included and was apparently written without consulting the US editorial office.
  • As much of the book spotlights the Marvel UK future timeline, a synopsis of The Transformers: The Movie is also included.

Footnotes

  1. There is an 11 issue gap between the end of the Headmasters reprints and 'Trial by Fire' when the Headmasters reach Earth
