Blight (Universe)

The name or term "Blight" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Blight (disambiguation).
Blight is a Decepticon-allied Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family (via the 2008 Universe toyline).
He's basically Dispensor's motorcycle.

Blight is a member of the Ransack Team. The mirror opposite of his teammate Brimstone, Blight is physically weak, poorly armed, and features one of the lowest endurance ratings ever recorded (a 2!). How then does this feeble mechanoid survive among the Decepticons, a faction not known for coddling weakness? By speed and by profound bravery, genius-level intellect, and skills that are almost unmatchable. Though it seems his physical deficiencies have kept him low in the ranks, the fact that a robot like Blight survives among the Cons at all is likely a testament to his true abilities. Brimstone might be frightening at first glance, but it's Blight you should really be afraid of. [1]

Toys

Universe (2008)

  • Mini-Con 12-Pack (Multi-pack, 2008)
Blight is a redeco of Classics Dirt Rocket, transforming into a racing motorcycle of undetermined model.
He was originally only available as part of a Kmart exclusive Mini-Con 12-pack with Backstop, Bodyblock, Boltflash, Brimstone, Cloudraker, Flatfoot, Heavytread, Knockdown, Makeshift, Skyhammer, and Suppressor.
This mold was also used to make Cybertron Offshoot and Micron Booster Windrazor. There is a breakage issue with the arms on all versions of this mold; the thin plastic around the shoulder jointing has a distressing tendency to break. Exercise caution while converting any version of this toy.

  • Blight (Mini-Con, 2009)
Blight was also sold on an individual card in discount store chains like Big Lots! in the US. The toy is identical to the multi-pack version.

  • Blight (Mini-Con, 2010)
In the UK, all twelve Mini-Cons from the original "Mini-Con Class 12 Pack" set were released in individual blind-packed bags with "energon fizzy sweets" candies, distributed by The Little Factory Ltd. This version of Blight is actually a new tooling with numerous tiny differences from the original (and generally less crisp molding), but is functionally the same toy. It is currently unknown if this mold is as fragile around the shoulders as the original... but all things considered, be really careful with it anyway.
