- Cordon is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family and a Diaclone vehicle from the Diaclone continuity family.
Cordon (コルドン Korudon) is a reserve trooper[1] afflicted with a glitch that causes regular memory loss. Born in an ancient era of Cybertron, Cordon's regular amnesia has frequently stripped him of any judgment of right or wrong, but has granted him one gift: the skills inscribed in his body systems from the multitude of different personae and experiences he has lived through. Among his expertises are the detoxification of iron habu venom, the improvement of dynamo repairs, and even cooking an exquisite feast for harvest festivals.
But such a renaissance 'bot also attracts the attention of the Decepticons...[2]

Train Wars
When The Fallen attacked Cybertron in the hopes of merging with Vector Sigma, Overdrive sought additional help using the power of his Quantum Dial. Further empowering the dial with the help of the Oracle, Overdrive reached across space and time to recruit a policebot of Sunstreaker's body-design and other inter-dimensional warriors. Train Wars The Fallen assumed a combination form, however, and managed to impale the reinforcements using energy spikes. Metroplex, the Trainbots, the Train Team, and the Liner Team soon arrived to turn the tide, and the Fallen was ultimately defeated. Masterpiece toy bios
While lost on the battlefield, Cordon was recruited into the Autobots. However, during training, Cordon was accused of aiding the enemy and participating in violent acts himself, resulting in an indictment. Cordon was found guilty, but subsequent investigation revealed his memory loss and, deeming him incapable of moral judgment and hoping to repair his glitch, the Autobots sentenced Cordon to 300 years of community service. He was assigned to a planet newly settled by humans; they were initially wary of such a green soldier, but Cordon's skills managed to overturn their first impressions. His accomplishments caught the notice of the Decepticons, and Garboil met with Cordon in an attempt to lure him into joining the Cobalt Sentries, noting that the Autobot would look nice in blue. Upon investigating the remains of the Diadem space station, Delta Magnus found lost memory banks for Spin-Out and Cordon, but Cordon declined to install them. Spin-Out profile
Precursor World
A Warrior of the Seven Lights resembling Cordon was a member of the White Order of the Primus Vanguard. He was a part of his commander White Gallant Convoy's retinue as they drove to the Order's headquarters on the White Planet. God Neptune comic 2

- Masterpiece Cordon is a redeco and retool of MP-39 Sunstreaker, transforming from robot to a licensed Lamborghini Countach LP500S with a lightbar, and bearing the mark of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. His front and rear license plates read "CR-03" in reference to his Diaclone progenitor's place as #3 in the Car Robots subline. His new head is accurate to the original Diaclone and Sunstreaker toys, as are his new detailed shins. He includes a new wrist-mountable chrome missile, noticeably missing from MP-39, which has a flip-out handle, enabling it to be handheld; said missile should also work with Masterpiece Sunstreaker.
- When purchased from a seller supplied by Hasbro Asia, a collector coin is included, bearing his face on the obverse side. It comes mounted in a folded card resembling his hood and windscreen on the front, and the vehicle's "Super Tuning" mode rear end on the back.[3]
- Cordon was redecoed—and slightly retooled, omitting the lightbar—into Spinout.

- A Generations Selects add-on to Earthrise, Cordon is a redeco/retool of Sunstreaker, featuring a new chest/windshield with molded flashers. He transforms from a robot into an unlicensed approximation of a Lamborghini Countach LP500S (most conspicuously missing the spoilers, but also having 5 mm holes back there just in case). His engine block can be used as a pair of rocket boosters or as a gun.
- Cordon's translucent chest/windshield was originally supposed to be molded in smoke gray with the flashers painted metallic opaque red, but was changed into colorless clear with translucent red paint flashers for the final product.[4] Despite the windshield's underside not being painted like his mold-mates, it can still be difficult to slot his windshield/roof in place for car mode. This can be resolved by lightly sanding the front portions of the pegs until the gap can be cleanly closed.
- Though this mold shares much of its engineering and transformation scheme with Earthrise Wheeljack, it is not a retool of that mold.
- He was only available in a two-pack with mold-mate Spin-Out. They share a single instruction sheet, which nonetheless shows both individual toys' transformations in full... and swaps their names around. Oops.

'Sunstreaker Diaclone edition' is a variant based on the Countach LP500s Police Type from the Diaclone toy line.
Notes
- Cordon began as the Diaclone No. 3 "Countach LP500S Patrol Car Type" released in 1982. When Hasbro decided to use Diaclone molds for their Transformers toyline, No. 3 was skipped over, with only No. 1 being released in a new deco. No. 3's likeness would later be considered for a potential exclusive toy (see below) and finally resurrected as a Masterpiece retool of Sunstreaker—who Masterpiece fiction would eventually imply to be the same entity as the original Diaclone mech.
- Cordon's coloration was used in the 2005 IDW comics for some of the Machination's Sunstreaker clones.
- A mock-up of a "Sunstreaker Police Type" (presumably a placeholder name) redeco of the 2008 Universe Sunstreaker mold, an homage to the Diaclone toy, was shown in Transformers Generations 2014 Volume 1 as one of ten potential exclusives for Vol. 2. The mock-up promised that the final product would feature a lightbar, presumably the one from the Henkei! Alert version of the mold. In the end it didn't win the poll to determine which of the ten would be produced, receiving only 3.8% of the fan votes.[5]
- The Cobalt Sentries' attempt to recruit him makes a pun on the name of the Cordon Bleu ("Blue Ribbon") of the French Order of the Holy Spirit (which also inspired the name of the Swiss dish).
