Dave's mom is...well, Dave's mom. She's pretty much the only person Dave ever talks to, and considering how frequently she expresses her disappointment in him, it's a wonder he's got any self-esteem left to speak of.

When Dave called his mom to tell her about the tiny robots he had seen, she refused to believe his story, laughing mercilessly at him until he got frustrated and hung up. (Never) Be Yourself On February 29, she called Dave to ask if he was doing anything special for his birthday, only to be disappointed by the revelation that he had no plans other than buying himself a cupcake. Later that evening, Dave opened a card from his mother with the message "It is your birthday. Regards, Mom" written inside. Escape from Snackatraz Shortly before Halloween, Dave called his mom and attempted to practice a voice for his mummy costume, but she assumed it was a prank caller because she didn't have his number programmed into her phone. Once the misunderstanding had been cleared up, she criticized his mummy voice as bland and shot down all his other costume ideas, suggesting to his frustration that he dress as the Invisible Man again since he was so good at not being noticed. Spirit of Halloween Eventually, she began to suspect Dave might be a vampire due to his pale skin and nocturnal occupation, and began rubbing garlic into his clothes as a countermeasure. Fortunately, this didn't affect the very non-vampiric Dave beyond giving him an unpleasant odor. Agent Smartlit
After an accident caused Dave to be fired from the mall, his mom suggested he just grow a mustache and re-apply under an alias, but when he shot he idea down, she told him it was just a job and that he should get over it, along with casting doubt on the belief that he'd ever wanted to be a living statue performer instead. The next night, when a group of security bots went haywire and began destroying the mall, Burgertron suggested they bring Dave back so he could input the bots' security code and shut them down. Since the only number he ever inputted into his company phone was his mom's, Burgertron called her asking for Dave, claiming to be one of his friends.
