Masterforce War

The Masterforce War (マスターフォース戦争 Masterforce Sensō), also known as the Devil War (デビルウォー), is the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons focusing on the Godmasters and Devil Z's attempts at harnessing their power to conquer the universe. The war spans a period between the re-awakening of the Decepticon Pretenders and the defeat of Devil Z.

Notes

• The year of the Masterforce War was never established in contemporary media, only known to be after The Headmasters in 2011 and before Victory in 2025. Decades after the fact, a Generations Selects comic story by continuity aficionado Hayato Sakamoto laid down that the Masterforce anime took place in 2020.
• The Victory manga (set in 2025 in a splinter continuity) also seems to favor a later date; when several humans from the Masterforce series join the Victory cast they are still roughly the same age they had been when last seen in Masterforce.
