The Transformers: Armada trading cards were released by Fleer in 2003, as part of the general merchandising blitz intended to raise the profile of the series. Like many similar publications from the time, it reuses art assets created by Dreamwave Productions, with the back faces of the character cards featuring bios, all apparently taken from some material provided by Hasbro to various contractors; the wording for many characters is shared with their entries in the Transformers: Armada Official Guidebook, with the minimal editing necessary to fit the format.

They were distributed in packs of five cards, consisting of three sets:

  • Regular set
    • 84 Character cards
    • 36 Puzzle cards (one per pack)
    • Checklist cards (one in every six packs)
    • Energon preview cards (one in every four packs)
  • Parallel set (one per pack pack)
    • 122 "Gold Parallel" cards
  • Insert set (one in every two packs)
    • 10 Armada posters (one in every nine packs)
    • 9 Autobot / Decepticon cards (one in every six packs)
    • 12 Comic art cards (one in every nine packs)
    • 8 Flappers (one in every eighteen packs)
    • 50 Sketchagraph ("Each is a 1:1")
    • Pat Lee-signed cards (limited to seven-hundred pieces)

Notes

  • For some reason, Drill Bit's name is consistently rendered without a space, but keeps the capitalisation: "DrillBit".
  • The Scorponok Energon Preview card uses Takara's color scheme; later Dreamwave art would use the Hasbro color scheme.
