Salvage is a redeco of Dropkick. His deco and the "Sparkplug & Son Salvage" markings appear to be a double homage, both to the red truck from Sanford and Son and to the red pickup Sparkplug Witwicky owned in the Marvel G1 comics.

Trivia

• Interestingly, much like Dropkick, Salvage uses a name never used on a Transformer toy before. It appears new names are limited to this mold for the movie line, thus far anyway.
