Salvage (Movie)
From MediaWiki
| The name or term "Salvage" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Salvage (disambiguation). |
- Salvage is an Autobot from the live-action movie continuity family.
Another of the new Autobots brought to life by the final, energetic bursts from the AllSpark, Salvage doesn’t really have a lot of ambition. Before being brought to life, he worked with Sparkplug & Son Salvage, and he’s pretty sure he was happy then. He’s certain he’s happy now, with a load of scrap in the back and Sparkplug’s hands in their accustomed place on his worn old steering wheel. It’s a simple life, but it’s one he prefers to hunting Decepticons and fighting all the time.

Transformers (2007)
- Salvage (Deluxe, 2008)

- Salvage is a redeco of Dropkick, transforming into a customized Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck (or a similar model just different enough to avoid paying a licensing fee). His flatbed cover conceals a giant claw/plier deployed from the tailgate by a sliding knob on top. This assembly becomes a hand-held weapon for his robot mode. He also has (non-firing) twin blasters on the underside of each forearm in robot mode.
- His deco and the "Sparkplug & Son Salvage" markings appear to be a double homage, both to the red truck from Sanford and Son and to the red pickup Sparkplug Witwicky owned in the Marvel G1 comics.
Trivia
- Before, this toy was thought to have a new name, like Dropkick. HOwever, "Salvage" is a name first used by another robot from Transformers Legends anthology. This is the first use of the name both on a toy and on an actual Transformer, though.
