Shinji Aramaki (荒牧 伸志 Aramaki Shinji), born October 2, 1960, is a veteran Japanese mecha designer and animation director. Currently considered a leading figure in Japanese 3DCG animation, his primary claim to fame is as the director of the Appleseed film franchise, but his lengthy career includes mech design for productions such as the M. A. S. K. franchise and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, also known as the third season of Jetfire's old nemesis Robotech. In Transformers, he designed several Micro Change toys that would eventually become Transformers, as well as the pre-Transformer versions of the Deluxe Insecticons.
