I've made it so Transmetal 2 redirects to this page. We've already got TM2s mentioned in this article, and I don't think we need two articles on it, at least, not yet. --Suki Brits 18:50, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Do Optimal Optimus and Dragon Megatron count as TM2s though? Technically they didn't become that way from Vok involvement.

Also, both Optimus and Cheetor DID have extra modes in TM2 mode (Optimus had Tank, Plane, Monkey and Big Robot modes, and Cheetor had a rocket in his tuckus). --Octopus Prime- King of the Road! 22:45, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Optimal Optimus is not a TM2 but Dragon Megatron is, I think the most populor fanon explanation is he assorbed lots of radiation from the TM driver due to prolonged contact. --X-BoB

I have just made a major revision of the article. Please look it over for errors or omissions. The structure of the sections is a little odd, as the first two sections are for, basically, subgroups (TMs and TM2s), with fiction subsections, and the third section is for the IDW BW comic, itself fiction. I did this because the IDW section deals with both types of Transmetal, but I would prefer not to organize the entire article by fiction/toy. I think separating out the TM1 and TM2 sections is better. --Steve-o 23:23, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Uhhhh, Rattrap has an "exposed brain" before ever becoming a Transmetal. http://www.tfu.info/1996/Maximal/Rattrap/rattrap.htm--G.B. Blackrock 23:26, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Good point. That was an artifact from the old article that I didn't bother to think about. --Steve-o 23:57, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't agrea with the part about the TM Driver only working on dead transformers, if we inlcude fanon like that we might as well include the tidbit about how Megatron became a TM2 b/c of contact with the TM Driver. X-BoB58 23:42, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

The Megatron/TM2 speculation is completely unnecessary, and completely pulled out of the fandom's ass. We already have a perfectly good reason to expect his body to change, and as said in the article, there's no real reason to think that his body in the show is meant to have any similarity to the TM2s. The dead/driver thing is different, IMO. If true, for example, it explains why the driver might suddenly activate and mutate Blackarachnia right after she died, even though it had been sitting there all along doing nothing despite having many Transformers around it. There is actually a reason to speculate on that because there is something unexplained about it. I'm totally fine with wording the statement even more softly than it already is, or introducing that argument to back it up, but I think it should be mentioned somewhere. Perhaps in the (currently non-existant) Driver article would be more appropriate, but somewhere. --Steve-o 23:57, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
