Master Optimus Prime finds his dear friend corrupted.

Synopsis

[edit]

Wandering the abyss of the spacetime gap he consigned himself and Geistrom to, G3 Prime finds the foreboding Dark Spark, a powerful Matrix-like object rumored to be of another world. As if finally responding to the presence of lifeforms in this void, the Dark Spark amasses its powerful energies, and the fearful G3 Prime realizes it wants a host! Seeing Geistrom's swarm start to move towards the evil crystal, the Prime realizes that the ghost will only bring forth untold destruction with the Dark Spark's power and makes a fateful decision. Converting into a form similar to Master Optimus Prime's Pedestal Prime mode, G3 Prime sucks the Dark Spark into a container modeled after the Chrono Matrix. In the process, a terrifying energy emanates from the Prime and utterly destroys the spectral swarm of Geistroms. After some time, the bearer of the Dark Spark returns to his normal dimension—not as G3 Prime, but as Master Nemesis Prime! Realizing that he's lost the spacetime powers he leisurely possessed in his previous persona, Nemesis Prime decides that the solution is to acquire a G-Shock watch!

Having fulfilled the duty assigned to him to return the G-Shock watch instrumental to defeating Geistrom to its original human owner, Master Optimus Prime now lives in cooperation with the human, using the G-Shock and his own abilities to defend Earth from threats such as the Decepticons and whoever would threaten the flow of time. Once day, when investigating a Decepticon intrusion, Optimus is shocked to find a new entity—a robot similar to him, but in black—beating up the Decepticons and declaring himself the new ruler before introducing himself as Master Nemesis Prime. Holding back his new enemy's fist, Optimus used his Gnotion Empower ability to find out the background of his assailant, only to discover his true identity of G3 Prime! He also notes the presence of another G-Shock watch within his chest, but the dark Prime simply implies that he's got a sympathetic human on his side, to his ex-friend's disbelief. Nemesis jumps back and states that they have bigger to worry about: disruptors of time are gathering on Earth and the Primes need to pacify them. He promises, though, to settle their disagreements after and disappears.

Master Optimus Prime returns home and confides in his human friend that the key to breaking the hold darkness has on G3 Prime must be the G-Shock within him, for technology exists to serve its user and is inherently good. Indeed, he believes in the power of G-Shock.

Notes

[edit]
  • This story is actually presented in two different sections on Master Nemesis Prime's pamphlet under "Story" and "Battle of the Primes". For convenience, both are recounted in the summary.
  • The Dark Spark was introduced in the 2014 video game Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, which established its ability to move between universes.
