Category:Variable species characters

In the Transformers brand, a character may be a Nebulan in one continuity but a Cybertronian in another. Alternatively, they could be part of the Junkion species, descended from Cybertronian ancestors in one continuity but unrelated to the Cybertronians in another.

This is especially common with characters originating as toys from 1987, the debut year of Headmasters and Targetmasters.

Note that this category is meant to cover characters who are different across separate portrayals and does not encompass characters born of hybrid engineering, such as Sari Sumdac, or characters who undergo physical modification within a single continuity, such as Circuit Breaker.
