Am I dead yet?

When Metalhawk and the Autobot Pretenders living on Earth came to suspect that their Decepticon enemies would soon reappear to threaten the planet, they revealed themselves to Professor Gō, seeking the scientist's help in preparing for the fight ahead. Happy to render his services, Gō created a large subterranean complex that would serve as a staging base and headquarters for the Autobots when the battle began. Within this base, he stored three Headmaster Junior Transtectors sent to Earth by Chromedome of the Autobot Headmasters, who were occupied battling the Decepticons in space. Gō kept his alliance with the Autobots a secret from his son Shūta, but Metalhawk, in his human form of "Mr. Hawk," was a regular presence at Gō's observatory research centre and became good friends with Shūta. Birth! Headmaster Jrs

When the day of the Decepticons' return finally came, Gō and Hawk were attending one of Shūta's school soccer matches. On their way back to Gō's Space Astronomy Research Center, they were contacted by Diver with news of a Decepticon attack on a cruise ship. Realizing that the day they had long dreaded had arrived, Gō was hesitant to tell Shūta the truth, but Metalhawk convinced him it was the right thing to do, and the boy was told the tale of the Transformers. Rise Up!! Pretenders

After several further attacks by the Decepticons and their Destroids, Professor Gō began to feel it was time to activate the Transtectors. Gō did not get to realize this goal, however, thanks to a Decepticon attack on his observatory while most of the Autobots were occupied fighting in the Karin Islands. Only Lander was present to defend him against the Decepticon Blood, who collapsed a stone pillar on top of the professor, leaving him trapped as the facility exploded. When the Autobots returned, there was only rubble left to sift through, but the fatally wounded Gō was discovered clinging to life in the wreckage. Asking Metalhawk to take care of Shūta, he handed his son the key to the base he had built for the Autobots, and died. Terror! The Decepticons' Manhunt

Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

According to a story heard by Vector Prime at Axiom Nexus, when the Mutants invaded Earth, Dr. Haruma Gō worked with Dr. Daichi Ōnishi to upgrade the Spychangers into Super Spychangers to handle the threat.

Gō was also the youngest member of the Raiden Initiative, designing the superstructure of the Trainbots. In addition to bringing the fire of youth to the project, he was given the newest model of train to name. He named the 200 Series Shinkansen "Yukikaze", after the winds of his native Hokkaido. Titans Return

[edit]
"I'm back, son!"
  • Siege on Cybertron (Gift set, 2017)
A retool of Titans Return Blowpipe, "Professor Go" is a Titan Master that transforms from a robot based on Blowpipe's Generation 1 character model into Metalhawk's head, compatible with any Deluxe-or-larger Titans Return figure. In robot mode, he can pilot/plug into any of the Titan Master class vehicles/beasts, and pilot-able Legends Class figures.
Professor Go and Metalhawk were only available as part of the "Siege of Cybertron" set, which also includes Ginrai & Magnus Prime, Fathom & Tidal Wave, Decepticon Pounce, and Thunderwing. In the United States, this set was exclusive to BigBadToyStore, but it saw a wider release in Canada where it was available at Toys"R"Us, Amazon, the Canadian Walmart online store, book store chain Indigo and several PC retailers (seriously!). Additionally, it was also available at retail in Hong Kong and Singapore and even saw an official in the Netherlands, where it was exclusively available from BOL.

Notes

[edit]
  • Professor Gō's given name comes from Ask Vector Prime, three decades after Masterforce aired. As such, it has yet to be written with Japanese characters.
  • The identity of Titans Return Metalhawk's Titan Master partner was indicated nowhere on the "Siege on Cybertron" boxset. Rather, it came from the Trypticon's Titan Master Crunch poster distributed at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.
