Winged Sentinel is a science fantasy novel written by D.E. O'Neil, a Witcwicky local. It's about mythological beings using science and magic to protect their homeworld and the Sentry Owl, the protector of all in need, might be the main character.

Winged Sentinel was one of Alex Malto's favorite books since childhood, and he was reading it years later while watching his children play outside. Alex recommended it to Nightshade, believing it was right up their alley. Enthralled by its tale of a protector from beyond the stars, Nightshade resolved to track down the author only to learn that O'Neil had died some time ago. Nightshade later scanned the statue of the sentry owl on O'Neil's grave and took it as their alternate mode. Missed Connection
