Winged Sentinel

Winged Sentinel is a science fantasy novel written by Witwicky native D.E. O'Neil. Easily identified by the striking image of a Sentry Owl on the cover, the book is the first entry in a series about beings from another world, using science and magic to protect their home against the forces of darkness.

Winged Sentinel was one of Alex Malto's favorite books as a child, having turned to it when he struggled to fit in with his peers. Years later, he was re-reading it while watching his children play outside. Alex recommended the book to Nightshade, believing it would help them the same way it did for him. Enthralled by its tale of a protector from beyond the stars, Nightshade resolved to track down the author.

Unfortunately, they discovered that O'Neil had died some time ago, the grave adorned by a statue of the Sentry Owl from the book. Nightshade later scanned the statue, taking it as their alternate mode. Missed Connection
