"I'm from Mattel. ...Well, I'm not really from Mattel, I'm actually from a smaller company that was purchased in a leveraged buyout."

Mattel is an American toy company founded in 1945, and a perennial business rival of Hasbro. Like Hasbro, the company possesses its own prominent in-house brands, which include Masters of the Universe, Hot Wheels, and Barbie. Merchandising licenses for other properties like Jurassic Park, DC Comics, and Power Rangers have bounced back and forth between the two companies over the years.

Despite their long-standing rivalry, Hasbro and Mattel entered into a multi-year partnership in 2023, where they agreed to produce co-branded toys and games based on their respective franchises.[1] Crossovers relevant to this wiki include a Transformers-themed UNO game and a celebratory line of Hot Wheels cars and finger skateboards.
