Category talk:Repurposed toys
From MediaWiki
The only other one I can think of is Ravage (twice, with Panther and Shadow Panther), unless we're counting character sheet swaps like Nightstick and Fracas. Prowl II, perhaps. —Interrobang 12:13, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- I could live with Prowl II, but even then, I don't think there are enough of these to really warrant a category. Isn't the bottom limit six or seven? -hx 15:27, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Give it a week, I think there might be a few more knocking around continuity. If none turn up by then than I'd be okay with 'cat deletion.
- (I will say, all the toys with two identities couresy of Energon do not belong here.) -Derik 15:39, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah - what about, say, the various Universe guys who are just "alternate" versions of existing dudes - I'm thinking here specifically of Lil' Lemony Spychanger RiD Prime, who was originally meant to be regular old RiD Prime (I presume) but then got retconned into being the Prime of a dimension where everyone was just Spychanger-sized?) I'm not sure that would count, necessarily... -hx 17:06, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Considering "teenyverse" is their FIRST and ONLY canon characterization... no, I'd say they don't count. --M Sipher 17:25, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

- The lower size limit for categories isn't a hard limit -- when there's an unusual or curious category like this one we sometimes let them slide. --Steve-o 04:14, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
BM Tankor's toy was used to represent Quake's Vehicon drones in Wreckers #1. That should probably fit here. --ItsWalky 17:37, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Does Legion count? --FortMax 17:41, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure not. That wasn't any pre-existing toy. Find me a Windcharger/Decepticharge with a Megatron head and we'll re-evaluate. ;) --ItsWalky 17:54, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- The heads aren't that different. They just made the helmet slightly more polygonal. --FortMax 18:22, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- The heads are much more different than that. One is a Windcharger head, one is unmistakably a G1 Megatron head, including the distinctive brow, plus entirely new greebles on the sides of the helmet. Legion's altmode was also altered. --ItsWalky 18:36, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

- It was? *looks* Oh, good catch Walky.
- (This is a much narrower category than 'characters incarnations based on nonexistant toys', bit I feel like it's unique enough to be worth tracking.) -Derik 18:20, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Does the Cybertron redeco of RiD Optimus Prime count? The package bio said it was just Cybertron Prime in a new body, but the comic used the colors for RiD Prime. Cybertron Blurr? —Interrobang 19:38, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- IU think yes on RiD Prime, no on Blurr? (Wasn't Blur reassigned by his own tech-spec or something? I feel like that shouldn't count...) -Derik 20:55, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
