Optimus brings in game developer Wheeljack to explain some of the design decisions on the Mystery of Convoy remake.
Synopsis
[edit]Wheeljack plunges into a pit in Mystery of Convoy Returns and complains it's the same place he usually loses. The others are impressed he reached level 4, though Bumblebee suggests it's to be expected as Wheeljack was on the development team. Lockdown, however, thinks it's odd that the creator of the game can only make it to stage 4, even more so when Wheeljack reveals there are 8 stages. Optimus reveals they've invited Wheeljack to tell them about the aspects of the original game that he focused on while creating the remake, and Wheeljack reveals that first the team made the player character cute, like the Q-Transformers themselves. Lockdown is unimpressed. Next Wheeljack talks about the improvements they made to the controls, which Lockdown is still unimpressed with. Finally Wheeljack mentions that they made it insanely difficult, which sends Lockdown into another tirade about how it ruins the game, but Wheeljack claims it's to do with the "gap" making it more attractive. Lockdown complains that the difficulty makes it unattractive, which upsets Wheeljack, believing he's being compared to an unattractive guy's gap.
Optimus Prime suggests they ponder this for a while, and Bumblebee comes up with the scenario of a guy who's an extremely good cook, but only for his mother. Wheeljack suggests someone who has a cool voice but bad enunciation. Optimus comes up with a guy who is stylishly dressed but wears dated white briefs. With yellow stains. Lockdown, who has been facepalming for most of the conversation, points out that Optimus is also sweating oil, to which Optimus responds that there's quite a lot of oil today and the aim was not to sweat oil at all.
