Blue Booster and Wingtail's escape pod left Cybertron before crash-landing in the Green Hill Zone. As the pod opened, the two Autobots scanned a pair of nearby vehicles to take on as their new alternate modes, with Blue Booster taking the form of Sonic the Hedgehog's car. After enjoying speeding through the terrain for a while, the two transformed into robot mode, gave each other one more last fist bump, then transformed back into alt-mode and sped off to parts unknown. Collaborative Blue Booster is based on Sonic the Hedgehog, the speedy blue hero of Sega's eponymous video game franchise, and transforms into the Speed Star race car from the modern Sonic racing games (most closely based on its appearance in Team Sonic Racing) in 27 steps. The figure comes with a large shield based on the series' iconic rings, along with a handheld "jewel" resembling the item capsules that appear in the series' post-Sonic Adventure entries; the symbol inside can be rotated, with the Autobot insignia on one side and the invincibility power-up icon on the other.

Blue Booster and his pack-in buddy Wingtail were unveiled at Cybertron Con on December 5, 2024, and were then given a proper announcement the following day. They went up for pre-order as a Target exclusive (with limited quantities on Hasbro Pulse) on December 10, and is scheduled to ship on June 22, 2025, one day before the Sonic franchise's 34th anniversary.

Notes

• The Speed Star is actually capable of transformation itself—in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, it could convert between car, boat, and plane forms based on the race track's terrain. Sadly, Blue Booster (understandably) lacks this quadruple-changing ability.
