Quantum Beast Leap
| This is Apocrypha
The content of this page is considered to be apocrypha or pseudocanon. Fiction that is considered pseudocanon generally falls into one of two categories. It is most likely either unofficial fiction from an official creator that is so informative as to the creator's thought process and/or so influential to the fandom as to be worth documenting, or fiction that is published in such a way as to render it unofficial, such as fan works published as ancillary or bonus images/fiction with other official work. As such, new ideas and concepts introduced here may not hold true for work that is completely canonical. |

Two warriors from the far future are brought to the Earth Wars!
Synopsis
[edit]The Dinobots are sent to rendezvous with a recruit for the Autobots from the future, brought to the Earh Wars via a chronal carrier wave. However, they find the Predacons first, and just as Perceptor tells Grimlock to still be on the lookout for the recruit, a dinosaur and a gorilla, locked in their own battle, appear in a flash. Perceptor concludes that the Decepticons intercepted their carrier wave and brought their own warrior from the future, but the scientist is uncertain which is which.
Recognizing one of the warriors as a Tyrannosaurus rex like him, Grimlock deduces that the dinosaur must be himself from the future. Grimlock headbutts the gorilla away and compliments "Grimlock" on his looks, but the indignant T. rex clarifies that his name is Megatron. Grimlock acknowledges that "no one perfect" and attempts to bite Megatron, who is unfazed. The two briefly do battle, each matching the other blow-for-blow, only for the gorilla to clonk their heads together and separate the two, declaring this "beast war" to be over.

Quotes
[edit]"You're both past your prime!"
- —Optimus Primal makes a pun that we're genuinely amazed hasn't been used before.
Notes
[edit]- The pages of this comic were released via various fansites: Page 1 was released via The Allspark on April 14, Page 2 by TFW2005 the next day, and Page 3 by Seibertron the day after. Each of the sites also held contests, in which the winner would receive the original art for that site's respective page. The ending was decided by a fan vote between three different choices (Grimlock joins forces with Megatron; joins forces with Optimus; or fights Megatron), which was held on April 20 during one of the weekly Earth Wars official streams on Twitch. Following the vote, the final two pages were posted to Webb's Facebook page on April 28.
- While spotlighted through their channels, Space Ape Games has been keen to note that this is very much a fan comic and not official Earth Wars canon, causing it to exist in a very strange limbo of "officially unofficial" as it were.
Pseudo(?)-continuity notes
[edit]- While pseudocanonical, this comic ties directly into the events of the game's "Beast Wars Saga" arc.
Transformers references
[edit]- Kremzeek makes a cameo appearance on the cover.
Real-life references
[edit]- The title and logo design of this story reference cult time travel show Quantum Leap.
- Grimlock's "no one perfect" reaction to the object of his affections revealing his true identity evokes the ending of the 1959 film Some Like It Hot.
