Steve Parkhouse

Steve Parkhouse is a British comics writer, artist and letterer. He has worked for many companies including Marvel Comics. He is married to fellow Transformers letterer Annie Parkhouse nee Halfacree.
His Transformers work includes writing the very first Marvel UK story Man of Iron with his old Doctor Who Magazine partner John Ridgway, and much later lettering the UK story Wrecking Havoc. When writing Man of Iron, he knew almost nothing about the franchise: Marvel UK just told him the bare bones of the set-up. As a result, the story stays far away from any of the US plots so no clash could ensue. [1] He got the job simply because Alan McKenzie knew him and Ridgway from Doctor Who Magazine, and considered them the top choices. [2]
While Parkhouse only wrote one Transformers story and then moved on, Simon Furman would recount that this single story "set the sort of tone" for him (as he read the scripts before starting himself) and Marvel UK in general: they'd try to keep to that level of sophistication and quality rather than tell 'younger' stories.[3]
Away from Transformers, his most notable work includes a lengthy stint writing (and occasionally drawing) for Doctor Who Magazine, writing Black Knight and Night Raven for Marvel UK, the artwork for 2000 AD's Big Dave, and the graphic novel Angel Fire.
