Talk:Rise of the Constructicons
Apparently it's already aired in the Middle-East. I've seen pictures. --Hunter-113 16:07, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Gurren Lagann
Okay, one guy throws a hissy fit about some anime I've never heard of, now we have to placate the anime fans by finding a reference in every episode of Animated? -- SFH 19:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, because nobody ever used drill-hand attacks ever in the history of anything. Or... no, because that's a steaming pile of bullshit and it's not a goddamn GD reference. --M Sipher 19:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Energon, for chrissakes. DON'T THINK I WON'T USE THIS KNIFE! - Chris McFeely 19:28, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, Optimus Prime in super mode. He announced it all the time. -- SFH 19:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- G1 Ironhide had a drill-hand in at least one episode. And then there was Augur from "Inhumanoids." And if I actually cared to dignify this Lagann mass hysteria with any effort, I'm sure I could find more examples. --Thylacine 2000 19:40, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Meh. I was considering Wyatt saying Gurren Lagann did have some degree of influence on the second season and drill hands were the most likely reference to it so far. (Better than "Two triangles together as eyes! Reference!" or "He is pointing! Reference!") I'm not gonna fight over it. —Interrobang 19:41, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, because it's not like Devastator had optional drill-hands or anything. -150.253.90.112 20:17, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Mmm, moose.
God bless the moose, we may talk about Constructicons now.--RosicrucianTalk 23:59, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- I curse them, they know I can't hold out for a week, forcing me to watch the episodes in (not quite legal) youtube quality. I'd rather wait, but I can't resist. It also doesn't help that I live two hours away from the border. (Undecided) 03:26, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- Eh, I've no qualms youtubing it, as I don't have cable anyway. I was a little irked when my usual source put up a video of a guy camcordering it, so I held off until the real broadcast was available. I figure as long as it was up for broadcast in North America, it's not cheating to watch it.--RosicrucianTalk 18:13, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Italian Accents? WTF?
"Miscellaneous trivia The new Constructicons Mixmaster and Scrapper have a very loose resemblance to Nintendo's Mario and Luigi, respectively, even with Italian accents. "
Seriously, where do people come up with this stuff? If I were gonna say they bore resemblance to something, then I'd say any average stereotypical blue collar worker. Which, coincidentally, were exactly what Mario and Luigi were modeled after. And also... Italian accents? Give me a break! They obviously are meant to have mild New York dilects. Why does every single non New Yorker think New Yorkers all sound Italian? Why?!? Personally, I blame all those crappy Mafia flicks. But seriously, I noticed this on the G1 Wheeljack page too. It's really annoying, not to mention totally innaccurate. Rose.T 04:30, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Mario isn't from Brooklyn ? Mix kinda looks like Mario, but it's certainly a coincidence, 'cause Scrap doesn't look like Luigi at all. But the similarities, even coincidential, could be a trivia.
He's only from Brooklyn in the cartoons, in the games mario has a totally different accent. And both of them look nothing like the mario brothers, apart that mixmaster is "short" and tubby and scrapper is tall and skinny, because of this, i think it's worthless to note this as trivia.--Grand-majin 20:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Animation
To anyone else who's watched this episode: Is it just me or did the animation in this episode look notably lower in quality than previous episode? Maybe not to the level of AKOM, but still considerably lower in quality... --Detour 08:51, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- The animation looked FANTASTIC to me, especially in the faces. There's not usually that much squash and stretch, which is a pity. --ItsWalky 20:07, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have to admit that, to me, the animation in this episode seemed decidedly lower quality than previous episodes... Gspro15198 22:27, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- I thought it was great. So much life and motion and expression, perfect for the models. --M Sipher 22:56, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Not green and purple?
Even if we disagree on whether they're green, yellow-green, or yellow, both Mixmaster and Scrapper definitely have purple. --ItsWalky 20:07, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- No, they're yellow, gray and brown. No purple. Little blue tinted on the grey in the night scenes, but they don't have purple yet.--RosicrucianTalk 20:07, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- Though I do find it neat that they're going to be two of the few Transformers that get an in continuity repaint.--RosicrucianTalk 21:08, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Continuity error?
- When the Constructicons show up they show no knowledge of autobots, decepticons or of transformers as a hole ,yet they knew what and how to construct a spacebridge without prior knowledge than the plan Megatron shows them.
This isn't a continuity error to me. It's just their special power. They intuitively grok construction projects.--RosicrucianTalk 20:12, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. --ItsWalky 20:19, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- It should probably still go under "Other Notes", but not as an error, then.--Apcog 21:16, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think it serves quite well on the character pages as just a mention that the Constructicons are really good at this stuff.--RosicrucianTalk 21:17, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Constructibots or Constructobots?
I know this seems like pedantry, but can we standardize a spelling for the pre-evil Constructicons? It just seems a little sloppy to me to have examples of both variants existing on the same page, as well as across the wiki. If there's a vote, I'd go for Constructobots; it's more consistent with previous Autobot factions (Protectobots, Technobots), and it's closer to the way that Mixmaster actually pronounces it in the episode... -- Muddtallica 21:19, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
off model?
Is it just me, or did this episode's animation seems really off model? Even allowing for the more exaggerated expressions of the Constructibots- when Prime was moving around it felt like he was drawn in 3 separate styles, and the keying was absolutely bizarre. -75.168.112.43 01:10, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
