Some day we may learn more about this mysterious Spider-Man.

Peter Parker, a photographer for a newspaper named The New York Daily Bugle, is also the costumed hero Spider-Man. The source of his powers appears to be his black costume, which he can control with his mind. Other than being able to shapeshift into normal clothes, the costume also fires web-like projectiles from his wrists, which can be used either to swing from or to ensnare his enemies. His superhuman strength and agility may also come from this suit.

He's kind of a smartass.

Spider-Man teams up with the Autobots to help rescue Sparkplug Witwicky from the Decepticons. Spider-Man notes that he has had many amazing and strange adventures in his long history as a superhero. Optimus Prime says that he is sure tales of his exploits would be interesting.

It's been suggested that Peter Parker may be a homage to Bollywood superhero Pavitr Prabhakar (also named Spider-man) published by the Gotham Entertainment Group in India. Pavitr Prabhakar was given fantastic spider-powers by a god to fight demons and restore karmic balance.

GEG's hero (in turn) was a reimagining of an obscure live-action TV series in Japan in the 70's where Takuya Yamashiro was given spider-powers by aliens to pilot a giant robot and fight feminist magazine editors.
